Formula One

Well after six months of suspense and a nerve wrenching wait for the formula one season to start, at-last the fans have something to cheer about. The F1 season is well and truly underway, albeit with massive changes to the way in which the sport is to be conducted and the extraordinary changes in the rule book .

What's very interesting is that although there has been unprecedented changes to the rule book, there isn't an iota of dip in the feverish competitive spirit of the sport itself. Let's take the case of the erstwhile Honda GP , the team did not even know that they might be swamped by the so called financial storm, that was brewing when the 2008 season finished and then came the absolute shocker of Honda pull out from F1 . The team of about 750 people were completely taken aback and were distraught.

Until about two weeks before the start of the season opening in Australia , the whole world waited with bated breath about the fate of the Honda team . Then came the real surprise,Ross Brawn then the technical director at Honda, made a deal with the Honda's and made a management buy out of the team possible. Then the whole world of F1 fans thought ,this was good for the sport and they were thinking that not in any sport can one feel such an adrenaline . If that wasn't enough the barely a week old Brawn GP team, which was the erstwhile Honda team made all the F1 fans wake up as they stormed the testing . With just barely eight days to of testing , the team arrived at the grand opening of the Australian GP. For any avid F1 fan seeing all the 22 cars on the grid in itself is satisfying but savour the moment the barely eight day baby Brawn GP stunned the F1 world with a 1-2 to start the race in qualifying. If that wasn't enough , the team cracked the whip, when they absolutely stormed the Albert park circuit with an absolutely clinical performance with a 1-2 win . Where even the big boys like Ferrari and Mclaren struggled . Hat's off to the team .

The real crux is that the sport which many consider waste of money and fuel , also shows that it can set an example to many walks of life and also prove that it isn't only all about racing but also is a centre of cutting edge research as is the case with the introduction of KERS technology.

All said and done about the sport, for me it does give me enough to savour, discuss and learn about. I truly love this sport.
